Forming life-long disciples of Jesus Christ

“You did not choose me; I chose you and appointed you to go and bear much fruit, the kind of fruit that endures.
And so the Father will give you whatever you ask of him in my name.” John 15:16

6th-12th grade is a pivotal time in anyone’s life, and it is during this time where opinions and lifestyles begin to be shaped. It is our desire at Northstar Youth to instill in every student a desire to follow Jesus and seek him for the rest of their lives. It would be easy to have a high energy, emotionally-charged group, but our desire is not a hype for Jesus. Our hope is to see every student leave our group wanting to seek Jesus for the rest of life. We want to base our group off of John 15:16 because we desire to see each student “bear fruit that endures.”
We Meet Every Week!

Youth Events

Meet the team.

We have a great team of youth leaders! We have a lot of fun, and we encourage students to invite their friends to each and every event and group time.

Middle School Girls’ Leaders

Hannah Richards & Lissa Brown

Hannah attends Virginia Tech and studies interior design. Lissa graduated from Virginia Tech in 2020 where she studied literature and language. Both girls love living in Blacksburg and love the youth of Northstar!

High School Girls’ Leaders

Erika Gresh and Catilin Swecker

Erika is in nursing school, and Caitlin is studying to be a veterinarian. Both girls are lovers of all animals and all high school girls.

Youth Guy Leaders

Malek Zahed, Nevada Kershner, and Utah Kershner

Malek is in medical school at VCOM, and both of the Kershner twins attend Virginia Tech. The boys all enjoy a good hike, and love hanging out with our middle and high school boys.
