The Ministry Teams listed below are the primary means by which you can get involved.

Audio/Visual Team
The Audio/Visual team handles the work of providing sound for the band, vocalists and pastor on Sunday morning. The team also provides video for the auditorium using Media Shout software.

Auditorium Producer/Director
The work of coordinating the activities in the auditorium on Sunday mornings goes to the Producer/Director. Those activities include the set-up of sound, video and lighting equipment, and the direction of activities on stage.

Children's Ministry Team
The Northstar Children's Celebration Ministry offers Jumpstart on Sunday mornings for elementary children and First Impressions for preschoolers. Northstar also provides a clean, secure nursery. All Sunday children's programs begin at 9:50 AM.

College
The college ministry is geared for anyone that is in...or dropped out of college. Anyone that is of college age is invited.

Growth Groups
Growth Groups at Northstar are small groups that meet in the homes of members at various times during the week. They usually involve a meal or dessert, a time of Bible study, and a time of prayer. Growth Groups are Northstar's primary way for people to connect with people and build lasting relationships.

Hospitality Team
The Northstar Hospitality Team prepares refreshments, including doughnuts, coffee, juice and milk every Sunday morning in advance of worship services. In addition, the team also plans and coordinates all lunches and dinners at Northstar.

International Team
This team works with Internationals offering English Conversation classes, Bible studies and social events.

Lydia Team (Women's Ministry)
LYDIA, Northstar's Women's Ministry, plans and directs activities and events for women, usually on a monthly basis.

Men's Ministry
The men's ministry develops the college-age and up guys into more mature and effective disciples. And we have a lot of fun doing it. Contact Logan Park (logan.park@gmail.com) to get included!

Missions Team
This team works to plan mission projects for Northstar as well as suggesting possible avenues of missions support.

Set-Up and Greeting Team
The Greeting Team trains, directs and organizes volunteers to greet people who are arriving for worship services on Sunday mornings. The team also hands out gifts to persons visiting Northstar for the first time.

The Administrative Team
This team works closely with the pastor on financial, personnel and legal issues.

Web Team
The Web Team coordinates the creative and technical work of developing and maintaining Northstar's web site.

Worship Team
The Northstar Worship Team is made of up of both vocalists and a band. Both practice on Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM at the Baptist Student Union on Washington Street in Blacksburg. The Worship Team also develops a number of special musical services throughout the year. Northstar's musical style is contemporary.

Youth Team
Northstar's student ministry is geared to both Middle and High School teens and is called "The Crossing". "The Crossing" meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM. Youth group is a great way to come hang out and learn about the Bible in a fresh way.
