College Students
Northstar Church opens its doors each Sunday morning to college students from all around the New River Valley. Virginia Tech, Radford and New River Valley Community College are all represented. College students find opportunities to enjoy a more contemporary style of worship, get involved in growth groups that are multi-generational, and participate in a variety of ministries.
Northstar's vision is to involve college students at every level of church life. This approach aids the church by providing new and enthusiastic volunteers for ministries and by preparing students for the world of adulthood and church involvement beyond their academic years. College students are participating in the Northstar Band, singing with the Praise Team, teaching children in Jumpstart and First Impressions, greeting newcomers, helping with set-up and take-down duties, and assisting with website design.
